Taneta was lucky enough to grow up in Ferguson Valley, and attend Dardanup Primary School. She moved away to pursue her university studies at Murdoch in Chiropractic, a 5 year double degree. As she began studying she developed a passion for understanding even more about how our lifestyle, in particular eating whole nutritious foods, can affect our health. This lead to a completion of both a Diploma, and then a Graduate Diploma (post grad) in Human Nutrition at Torrens University and Deakin University.
Since then, she has regularly completed seminars, and read scientific research, plus attended courses in Functional Cupping, Dry Needling, and Optimal Maternal Positioning. Taneta is a big believer that there is always more to learn, and actively seeks out new information, as well as seminars and courses!

Her practice as a chiropractor includes a wide variety of techniques, with the appointment always being tailored to your presentation and preferences on the day, many of the techniques she has learnt from years of seminars, experience and exposure on top of her formal studies.

Manual Chiropractic - These are the maneuvers most commonly, or stereotypically associated with chiropractic, and often produce a cavitation or a "pop" sound. Dr Taneta is a strong and proficient manual adjuster, usually utilizing a technique called "Diversified Chiropractic." If you have responded well to manual adjustments in the past this is likely a great option for you. If you aren't a fan, or the idea isn't your thing keep reading!

Low Force, or Activator, Chiropractic - We have many patients who don't receive forceful manual adjustments, either to their entire body, or part of it. Some of the reasons are they respond better to gentle care, the don't like the feeling of a manual adjustment, or they have a condition that prevents a forceful adjustment being delivered in a safe way, that provides a benefit to their symptoms.

Dry Needling - Dr Taneta uses dry needling to provide muscular relief and relaxation prior to delivering an adjustment. It can use 1-20 needles depending on which muscle groups are being targeted, and how you as a patient respond to the needling, some patients like it to be very gentle aiming for a relaxation of the muscle, others prefer a more aggressive style of care aiming at stimulating the twitch response, and treating trigger points. You can read more about Dry Needling here.

Pregnancy, Optimal Maternal Positioning and Spinning Babies - Dr Taneta is passionate about helping you understand your body, and your baby, and how that relates to you having a more comfortable pregnancy, and an easier faster labour. Dr Taneta has two children, who you will often see around the clinic. She suffered with hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) for both pregnancies. She experienced a pre-eclamptic induction with her first, and a spontaneous labour with her second. Completing pregnancy specific seminars and the OMP course has given her even further insight into the importance of pelvic balancing, pelvic mobility, mums positioning, and labour preparation. Taneta is completing the Spinning babies course in Febuary and looking forward to adding even more tools to her belt. All these tools also assist Taneta in delivering highly personalised care to you and your baby in your post-partum period, and beyond. You can read more about how we deliver our pregnancy care here.
